Our history

Bongi Construction was founded in 1987 by brothers Gregory and Philip Bongiovanni. After working decades for their father’s company Bongi Cartage, a major contractor of roads, bridges, subways, excavation and sewers in the Greater Chicago Land area, they decided to continue in that tradition only in a much smaller and more focused operation. This has enabled them to give their clients greater attention provided at an affordable rate. They have worked successfully for over 30 years completing a variety of jobs for various towns and agencies such as Schaumburg Township Highway Dept., Leyden Township Highway Dept. and the Village of Elmwood Park.

They have also done directional drilling, a specialty of theirs, for various cable companies, sewer and water contractors, and electrical contractors, installing everything from fiber optic lines to 24” diameter sewer and water lines. More recently they have developed a well-working relationship with AT&T.

Bongi Construction continues to work for many of the same contractors and municipalities that they started with over 30 years ago; an indication of good workmanship, loyalty, and friendship, all of which they live their lives by.
